Which course did you study at Tallulah Rose and when?
I did the last Two-Week Career Course held at Bath shortly followed by the Wedding Retreat at Askham Hall Cumbria in 2019. I have over the years reached back for a 1:1 Business Day and did another Wedding Retreat in Cumbria.
What did you most enjoy about the course?
The flower bar! Walking in everyday to a selection of amazing seasonal flowers that we could get our hands on. I really felt like a child in a sweet shop.
What has been your most memorable moment since finishing the course?
Getting my own studio built was a milestone.
What is the best part of having your own floristry business?
Creativity, freedom. Weddings. I love the whole process from the initial consultation working with a couple developing their ideas. Creating a mood board, to delivering it on the day and seeing it all evolve into a beautiful day.
Are you seeing the financial return to your business, that you had hoped for when investing in training with Tallulah Rose?
Short answer yes, long answer it has taken me some time. But I think that’s because the business has grown at a pace that was needed for me.
What’s the best piece of advice Rachel gave you?
Be true to yourself. It’s easy to look around and think you should be doing this or that, but if you work in an authentic way then your style will naturally evolve and mature.
What would you say makes your floristry business unique?
Listening and time. I don’t ever want a couple to feel rushed or pushed. I really want to understand what they want from the day. How they want it to look, feel and impact. It also gives me much more joy and satisfaction knowing we create something that represents and reflects the couple.
Is there an opportunity that springs to mind that Tallulah Rose gave you the confidence to pursue?
Just to trust and believe in myself!
What is your favourite British flower and why?
Butterfly Ranunculus as I love floating, dancing, flowers that make a design move.
