Florist – Twisted Bramble

Meghan Campbell

What course did you study at Tallulah Rose and when?

I initially took the 3-day Intro to Floristry Course in October of 2020 to dip my toes in and see if floristry was something I wanted to do. I then returned in September of 2021 to take the 4-week Career Change Course. It was magical. I felt so supported by Rachel and the other students to give it everything I had. From day one, I felt confident about the life I was creating for myself. It was so special to be able to invest in myself and my future this way. In the summer of 2024, I had the opportunity to assist Rachel with her course in the US.

What did you most enjoy about the course?

My favourite part of the course was the large-scale installations. It always looked so daunting before learning, but now, I much prefer creating a giant arch than a tiny flower crown!

What’s the best part of having your own floristry business?

I love having the freedom that my business provides me. Yes, it was a bit scary financially to begin with, but I love that I had the freedom to create a business that suited me. The creative license for projects, when I have meetings, where I want to work– it’s perfect for me.

What would you say makes your floristry business unique?

At Twisted Bramble, we exclusively use local, seasonal flowers. This allows us to not only honour the planet and invest in our community, but also challenges us to be creative– especially in the winter months! I love creating designs that reflect the seasons and mimic nature.

What’s been your favourite client request so far?

This past spring, I had a couple request low ground arrangements for an intimate standing ceremony. They wanted their guests to feel as if they were walking through a meadow… a perfect tribute to spring with the delicate blooms!

Is there an opportunity that Tallulah Rose gave you the confidence to pursue?

During my career change course, I received my first wedding inquiry. Funny enough, Rachel gave me the courage to turn it down and permission to say “no” to projects that don’t align with me and my brand. She ended up having to give me the same lesson again in 2024 when I saw her!

What is your favourite local flower and why?

I love a seasonal, scented garden rose… timeless, precious, and delightful!
