Which course did you study at Tallulah Rose and when?
2 week career change 2020
What did you most enjoy about the course?
The community feel of Tallulah, the flowers of course and the freedom to learn without being put under the pressure to conform. Rachel has created the most beautiful, relaxed setting for budding florists.
What has been your most memorable moment since finishing the course?
I’m not sure you know, floristry is a wild job so much happens they’re all memorable, I think one thing that does stick out is having to cross a river to set up wedding flowers in Oxford! I’d asked another Tallulah to freelance for me and the venue wouldn’t let us through the gates so we had to actually cross A RIVER! But we did it! Doing the YMCA at height with three Tallulahs, little stupid but so funny. Just so so many things, getting the keys to my workshop, magazine and blog features and most recently being in a position to buy my own home because of my business. Thankyou Rachel!
What is the best part of having your own floristry business?
The freedom! The ability to work with a medium I love, the community, and not forgetting the couples I get to work with, they’re truly special.
Are you seeing the financial return to your business, that you had hoped for when investing in training with Tallulah Rose?
Honestly, I don’t think I ever set too high an expectation, once I left I knew it was all on me to make this work. And I can safely say it’s worked!
What’s the best piece of advice Rachel gave you?
Rachel gave me so much valuable advice I couldn’t possibly choose just one, my favourite one I think of often when I’m packing the van is “don’t put flowers on the front seat”, and I never have! Even if sometimes I really want to!
What would you say makes your floristry business unique?
I don’t think I am unique as such, but I like to think my approach to weddings (all I do) is the reason my couples choose me.
What’s been your favourite Client request so far?
Definitely can’t choose one for this!
What does being part of the Tallulah Rose family mean to you?
Community, true friendship, I work regularly with one of the girls I trained with, we’ve become really close friends, and another close friend who’s also a Tallulah is my workshop neighbour as well. It really is a community, of lovely people, all willing to help each other and Rachel has carved that path for us.
If you could choose any course to study (or restudy) at Tallulah Rose, which one would it be?
I’m still holding out hope Rachel will do a reunion for us all! But if I could do any, I’d happily spend two weeks at Tallulah just relaxing and flower faffing!
What is your favourite British flower and why?
Foxglove, peach, pretty, pure, perfection!
