Tallulah Rose Flower School is going back on the road again in 2025 with a visit to County Wicklow, Ireland!
To host a course in Ireland has long been a goal so we’re thrilled to finally be making it a reality.
From October 3rd – 5th we’ll be hosting a 3 day course immersed in the beauty of Trudder Lodge, County Wicklow. We have chosen Trudder for it’s beauty, both inside and out. For the space it allows us and the backdrop it provides. For everyone able to join us we promise you will experience an incredible few days. You will gain substantial insight into our industry and create the most beautiful designs all captured for you by our professional photographer. The course curriculum has been planned to give maximum learning potential covering not only wedding and event flowers but retail, farewell flowers and workshop hosting too. We hope that it fits the bill and that we’re able to meet and teach you in Autumn 2025.
Trudder Lodge is a magnificent example of a nineteenth century country house in Georgian Palladian style.
The House was designed as a hunting Lodge for the Archbishop of Dublin. Standing majestically in the rolling landscape of County Wicklow southern Ireland. This Georgian Lodge was built in circa 1835 and is set in a large mature woodland garden, undoubtedly one of the most exceptional features. While taking a turn around the grounds you will set upon a lake, a stream and lawn with many varieties of rhododendrons and rarer plants as well as a walled garden..
Did someone say walled garden?! Trudders walled Garden is enclosed by high walls and originally this garden would have housed many rare and specimen plants, flowers and shrubs and the walls would have provided ample shelter from the elements. A small stream runs through the garden and flows onto the pond beyond the walls..
Trudder Lodge is nestled in the heart of Wicklow, tucked away in parkland and woods yet located just 40 minutes from Dublin city and Dublin Airport and a stones throw from the N11.
Accommodation isn’t included in the course however stays can be found within a 10 minute drive from Trudder Lodge. Please see the recommendations below.
Sustainability is at the heart of this 3 day Floral Immersion. Every design, large or small will be have a sustainable technique at its core. If you have worked predominantly with foam or a foam substitute I promise you will find these techniques liberating for you and your flowers!
This 3 day course course suits anyone interested in learning sustainable floristry, prior experience will help gain more from your time with us however passion, a love of flowers and nature goes a long way!
Floral Immersion Ireland October 2025.
Day 1
- Introductions and the Tallulah Rose philosophy
- Flower conditioning and care.
- How to enjoy flowers (and your business) sustainably.
- Your choice of seasonal locally grown flowers throughout the day.
- With guidance and support you will create a hand-tied bouquet completed with an abundance of naturally dyed silk ribbons. We will show you examples of how to gift wrap your bouquets sustainably.
- You will create a low bowl arrangement filled with beautiful seasonal blooms brought together with your fellow students to create a portfolio worthy tablescape!
- Photography – professional images of you and your bouquet, (ideal for profile shots) will be taken as well as individual images of your bowl and the complete tablescape too.
- Weather permitting we will use the walled gardens for both the profile and tablescape images.
Day 2
- Wedding / event planing theory – marketing, quotation and pricing process for a wedding or event.
- The creation of both individual and large scale team designs to decorate Trudders beautiful event space, including table meadows, archways and suspended installations. On completion the room will be set as if for a wedding.
- A model will arrive along with our professional photographer to capture images for your wedding / event portfolio.
Day 3
- Farewell flowers theory – marketing, quotation and pricing process.
- Everyone will create an individual farewell flower design that will be captured by our photographer in the beautiful woodlands of Trudder Lodge.
- Workshop ideas and planning. If you’ve thought of hosting your own workshop but unsure how to, or you want to expand your offer, then our final session will give you the confidence to do just that.
- And finally.. flower crown fun! We each create a quick and easy flower crown showing of our personality or someone you know! An ideal future workshop creation and a great group shot to round up what we know will be a fabulous 3 days!
- Goodbyes… though we’ll have made flower friends for life so let’s just say ‘slan go foill’ goodbye for now.
All arrangements are yours to take away and enjoy, with the exception of the large scale designs. Ribbons, bowls, any individual designs and apron are yours to keep.
Each day commences at 9.30 am and finishes at 4.30pm * 3.30pm on Sunday our final day. Refreshments and lunch are provided every day and included in the course cost.
We have 4 double rooms available at Trudder Lodge. All rooms are comfortable and cosy whatever the autumn weather may deliver!
