Weddings – Everything You Need To Know.

This brand new course is designed to give you the confidence to shine! We’ve dissected each aspect of planning a wedding from start to finish in order that we incorporate it into our four day Weddings – Everything You Need to Know

Taking place in July we’ll be using an abundance of British flowers and foliage. Forever seeking sustainable alternatives we show you, through our trial and error, the very best way to wow your clients whilst satisfying your eco ethos. We realise that the practical side of wedding floristry is of course vital, after all your flowers do the selling, however we know that most often its the planning and logistics that flummox you the most. We’ve addressed this and included in our course a one day business session with The Florist Society. If you don’t already know The Florist Society then pay them a visit on Instagram now! Founded by Jess, Tiger by the Tail and Esther, Rebel and the Rose these incredible creative women have started something big (in business!) During this business day we’ll cover… finding your ideal client, marketing you and your business and your wedding pricing bible.

We’re also very aware of your anxieties when it comes to on the day logistics, the simple act of packing and protecting your flowers sends shivers down your spine! So we’re going to pack up a van with your kit, your flowers and if there’s room you too! There is no ‘one size fits all’ solution when it comes to packing a vehicle but hopefully we can simplyfy things for you, throwing in a few top tips to calm your nerves.

We’ll take you to a church where, as a team, we’ll create an archway. This is a logistic exercise and although the archway will be captured for all time by our incredible photographer Jessica Reeve the importance of this exercise is the logistics of setting up and making an archway safe, before taking it down again!

Talking photography Jess will join us on each of our practical days ensuring you have professional images of your work as well as the hundreds of shots I’m sure you’ll take yourself! We have an abundance of great backdrops here at Levens Hall however we’ll take you all into the world famous magical topiary gardens where Jess will capture your bridal bouquets with a professional model ensuring that perfect Instagram shot!

We hope out course sounds just right for you and your development needs. If you have floristry experience, perhaps you’ve completed a wedding or two yourself or worked alongside another florist then this course will fill you with confidence. If you’re a complete beginner then we advise taking our introductory course or career change course prior to undertaking this particular course, you’ll gain so much more from this course if you do. Day 1

Day 1 and you’ll be met by an abundance of British scented flowers crying out for your attention! You’re first day is all about the beauty of flowers and wedding styling, sustainably. You’ll create an individual table centre piece in a beautiful Gaia footed bowl, (yours to keep). Each table piece will then be brought together and incorporated in a fully styled tablescape. Jessica Reeve will capture images of your individual table piece as well as images of the complete styled table too, the start of a very beautiful wedding portfolio.

Day 2

Day 2 is down to business with The (fabulous) Florist Society. Together with Rachel, founder of the Tallulah Rose Flower School we talk… finding your ideal client, wedding marketing, the dos and don’ts of taking part in shoots and that illusive wedding pricing bible too. This day is designed to help clarify your position in the wedding market and how you charge for it! This is your time to really get a grasp on the business of weddings.

We believe in The Florist Society and its benefits so much that we’re offering to pay for one month’s membership, no strings. If after joining for one month you see no benefit then you simply cancel your membership.

Day 3

Bridal bouquets… beautiful, full and flowing, the kind you see on Instagram and wish you could master too!

We’ll show you just how it’s done with a full demonstration by Rachel.

A bridal bouquet wouldn’t be complete without a beautifully botanically dyed ribbon would it? You’ll have a choice of colours, all hand dyed by Sharon at Northern Hands.

We’ll bring in a professional model and head into the world famous topiary garden with Jessica Reeve to shoot your bouquet against the most beautiful backdrop. Another addition to your portfolio.

After lunch everyone will create a large urn arrangement ideal as a stand alone ceremony or wedding breakfast piece.

Your urn will be captured by Jess in the school stable yard.

Day 4

So often we’re asked… how do I transport flowers? Day 4 we’ll show you how. There is no one stop shop but we’ll show you our top tips to ensuring a smooth ride!

Not only do we pack up but we head off too, we’re going to church of course!

We’ll take you to a church where, as a team, we’ll create an archway. This is a logistic exercise and although the archway will be captured for all time by our incredible photographer Jessica Reeve the importance of this exercise is the logistics of setting up and making an archway safe, before taking it down again!

We’ll head back to school for a final farewell, a glass of fizz and a well urned Levens Kitchen doughnut!
